Out of sight really can mean out of mind. You may never think to wear that pair of earrings you have stored away in a box or a drawer. It is easier to incorporate jewelry into outfits if your jewelry is artfully displayed where you can see it.
Jewelry organizers and displays can be pricey. But there are great DIY options that anyone can put together. One of our favorite places to find materials is a dollar store, because they have lots of fun stuff and it is so easy to experiment with inexpensive components you find there. We went to a local Daiso Japan store.
Sometimes you get lucky and find pre-made jewelry displays. The shape is cute, but the color didn’t do anything for me. Nothing that a little spray paint can’t fix. The turquoise really makes the silver and brass pop. This display is great because it works for clip, post and wire earrings.
Unconventional materials can also be made into great jewelry organizers. Woven PVC placemats are a fun way to play with color, pattern and texture. They will contrast nicely with the metal finishes of the earrings.
Clips or frames can transform placemats into unique jewelry organizers.
We found this wire net in the kitchen section, but a couple basic thumb tacks make it a great minimalist way to display everything from necklaces to clip and wire earrings.
